Tara Meadows

Tara Meadows Holiday Park is situated just south of Tara Hill, in the townland of Prospect  on the outskirts of the little village of Ballymoney. The park is less than 5 km from the town of Gorey and the seaside village of Courtown Hbr. Thanks to the new motorway, Tara Meadows is  just around an hours drive from Dublin and provides an ideal location for family holidays.

Tara Meadows is a golfers paradise with three golf courses within a 1km radius from the park: Ballymoney Golf Club,  Courtown Golf Club,  and Tara Glen  have courses that provide diverse challenges. With Arklow, Enniscorthy, Bunclody, Coolattin and The European Club all within half an hour’s drive, the area has plenty to offer the golfing enthusiast.

Courtown Harbour, is situated just four kilometers to the south, it is a small harbour which is a mecca for both boating and sailing fans. Fishing is also a popular sport in the area with many competitions held throughout the year.  The area is blessed with  numerous  beaches, with the  woods of Courtown and Tara Hill also  renowned for their tranquillity and beautiful pathways.

The lively market town of Gorey is also just under five kilometers away. The town is well served with Tesco, Dunnes, Lidl, Aldi, etc. and the new Gorey Shopping Centre complementing the many local traders, who provide a rich array of shops and restaurants. Every Saturday is market day, with local agricultural products and craft on sale in the Gorey Community School car park.

Within a 5 km range, there is something for all the family. Horse riding, sailing,fishing, fresh and salt water, are just a few of the local attractions. Nearby, Courtown Harbour has an array of amenities, from Forest Park with its Gravity Centre and swimming pools, add in The Pirates Cove and you are sure to fill most days with holiday entertainment.

The town of Gorey is noted for its strong tradition in the arts. The Gorey Little Theatre group provides their annual summer play twice a week during the summer season, and no visit would be complete without a trip to French’s pub on a thursday night to sample the local ceol agus craic and maybe the odd pint or two aswell.

There are two shops, two pubs and a hotel in Ballymoney with the Orphan Girl Tavern less than a five minute walk. The Orphan Girl provides good food and music during the summer months. For your groceries there is two small shops at The Orphan Girl and in the village, we have a small tuck shop on the park. The Tara Vale and Seafield Hotel are also in Ballymoney giving you the perfect choice. Gorey has an array of shops and restaurants to suit all tastes.
